Julie Helber

Dr. Julie Helber has been serving in the field of education for the past 33 years. Julie has served as a special education teacher assistant, elementary school teacher, middle school assistant principal, curriculum director, high school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent throughout her career. She holds an elementary education certification, earned National Board Certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and was identified as a Milken National Educator. In addition, Julie holds a Masters degree in K-12 Curriculum and Instruction, Specialist in Educational Leadership, and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership, publishing a dissertation titled, “Self-efficacy and Instructional Leadership: Does mentoring make a difference?” 

Throughout her career in education, Julie has sought innovative practices that both engage the learner and prepare them for the future.  As a leader, she has been integral in creating innovative learning environments that facilitate project based learning and movement in the classroom.  Her extensive experience with developing and implementing school bonds, writing grants, and strategic planning has supported these innovative instructional approaches in the school districts she has served.

As a former University of Michigan softball catcher, Julie understands the importance of a strong team.  She has enjoyed coaching and mentoring teachers, administrators and superintendents and has built exceptional leadership teams throughout her career. She is passionate about building relationships with her clients and supporting them on their leadership journey.  Julie believes that great leaders are continuous learners and committed to their own professional growth.

Julie and her husband, Tim, enjoy golfing together in their spare time.  Let’s just say they are continuously improving and growing in their game!
